Who is Mr. Leo
Mr. Leo Artist , with real name Fonyuy Leonard Nsohburinka, is a Cameroonian singer and songwriter who hails from Nso in the North West region of Cameroon.
Mr. Leo was born on August 21, 1990, and grew up in a military camp (Warder Barracks) in Buea, Southwest Region (Cameroon).
Mr leo Career
Mr. Leo’s passion for music started when he became a member of a school Choir called Break Through voices. Leo later left the military camp and moved to Molyko, the buzzing Buea neighborhood which is the heart of studies and entertainment in the South west region of Cameroon.
In school he met Salatiel and Blaise B and the trio would do music together, sing in the choir and perform at events. They went on to become best friends as well.
Mr. Leo started his career professionally when he signed a recording deal with Alpha Better Records of Salatiel in 2015. In the same year, Mr. Leo’s debut single hit song titled “E go Beta” was released and in November 2015 his label released another of Mr.Leo single title On “Va Gérer” which means (we shall manage). The song was yet another hit.
Shortly after, he released other hit songs like “C’est Faux” “Kemayo” “Jamais Jamais” “Partout” and more.
Thanks to his incredible music career, Mr. Leo has received several awards including, best new artist, best video and best song with a message and best Cameroonian soul music.
In 2017, he signed an endorsement deal with Itel Mobile as brand ambassador in Cameroon.
He has collaborated with artists like Salatiel, Blaise B, Askia, Wax dey , X-Maleya, Locko, Magasco, witty Minstrel, Hiro, Fanicko, Flavour and others.
After leaving Alpha Beta Records, Mr. Leo founded the record label Lionn Production in 2020, producing Cameroonian artists Kameni and Gomez.
In 2021, he recorded a major achievement in his career as he was selected to be part of the Grammy Awards Recording Academy.
Personal Life
He is the 3rd child in a family of 4 and is a proud father of two.
